MogilevNEWS.by 14.10.2026 In Mogilev, about 1000 rubles disappeared from the bank card of a 75-year-old pensioner after she entrusted it to an acquaintance to buy groceries. According to the police, the man withdrew the money from the account and then returned the card to the owner.

The woman turned to the Leninsky District Department of Internal Affairs upon discovering the loss of her savings. Employees of the cybercrime countermeasures unit established that a 42-year-old resident of Mogilev, who is unemployed and has been previously convicted multiple times, was involved in the theft.

As reported by law enforcement officials, the man often visited the pensioner at her home. During one of his visits, the woman asked him to go shopping and handed over her bank card. However, the guest secretly withdrew the money and took it for himself.

When the hostess noticed the loss, the man claimed he knew nothing about what had happened.

Investigators initiated a criminal case against the resident of Mogilev.
