In Gomel, they explained why it is impossible to transfer coupons in transport

I constantly observe: people getting off public transportation hand their ticket to someone who is about to board a trolleybus or bus.

Often, tickets are left on seats or windows in the vehicle. What's the big deal, someone might say. Why not share, others might add.

I don't know, I don't know. I never leave my tickets behind and I don't take used tickets from others. Firstly, because I can afford to pay for myself. If I don't have money for the fare, then I walk. It's simple. Secondly, this practice of passing on tickets is not a chain of kindness, as some people write, but a real deprivation of funds from the transportation companies. Just like riding without a ticket.

Think about it. Let's say you paid for your fare, and so did everyone else on the bus. The revenue for the transportation company? It's revenue, albeit small (since the service is subsidized, and in reality, transporting one person on public transportation costs much more than 1.05 rubles). The funds received will be used, among other things, to repair the vehicles, pay salaries, and purchase new equipment.

Now consider a different scenario. Maria bought a ticket in the morning, handed it to Varvara Pavlovna, then a man with a cane used it, followed by a grandmother with her grandson, then a student, and maybe a few more people. And this happens on a citywide scale. Imagine how much lost revenue that is for the company.

To be honest, a ticket is not a second-hand item that you've used and then pass on to someone else. It's like bread - if you've taken a bite, you're unlikely to pass that bite on to someone else. Right?!
