An open house day was held at the branch of the Gomel Regional Palace of Creativity for Children and Youth. The event invited students from 9th to 11th grades to help them navigate the diverse range of modern specialties.

In Gomel, there are many opportunities for young people to master interesting and in-demand professions that meet the spirit of the times and have a wide range of applications.

The hall of the institution featured thematic exhibitions, and schoolchildren could communicate with teachers, masters of vocational training from colleges, and senior students to learn more about the conditions of study and subsequent employment. Later, on stage, there was a performance by agitprop groups and a procession of professions.

Alesia Anokhina, the head of the department of career guidance and professional competencies, shared that the job fair brought together almost a dozen institutions of secondary special education:

"We invited high school students from all over the city to the meeting. We are confident that communication with specialists and familiarization with the possibilities of colleges will help them make a choice that suits their hearts in the future."

Nastasya Borkova works at the Gomel State College of Transport and Transport Communications, and recently she became the winner of the district stage of the republican competition for young workers of enterprises, organizations, and institutions "SuperPROFI":

"We are presenting such vacancies as a passenger car conductor, ticket cashier, assistant locomotive driver, electric locomotive driver, diesel train driver, and a mechanic for repairing rolling stock. We have an excellent material and technical base, first-class teachers who devote a lot of time and effort to training specialists. We will be happy to see all the students who see themselves in this field."

Artyom Serdyukov is a first-year student at the Gomel State College of Builders:

"I am receiving three specialties at once - tile layer, painter, and plasterer. These are in-demand professions in the labor market, and I am happy to be among the students. We are taught by professionals who readily share their experience."

Such events help schoolchildren adjust their idea of their future path after graduation, give them time to prepare for admission, and overall have a positive impact on self-determination.
