In 2026, over 1.8 billion rubles of investment are planned for the economy of Gomel — that's 22.5 percent of the total volume of the region. Which enterprises are modernizing production, creating new jobs and producing import-substituting products, said the management of the economic department of the Gomel city administration.

For reminding, there are currently 18 projects in the city's investment portfolio, including those started in previous years.

According to the principle "One district – one project," JSC "GZlN" is expanding production capacities to increase the volume of output of large-scale units and parts. The project is planned through 2030.

Customers will be pleased with new products from OJSC "Milkavita" and LLC "Belprodukt". At one facility, they plan to install lines for bottling drinking yogurt and whey-based drinks, as well as an ultrafiltration line for producing Greek yogurts and cottage cheese curds. At another, after purchasing additional equipment, they will expand the production of natural potato chips.

The output of vacuum tubes at OJSC "Medplast" will increase after the completion of a project to reconstruct administrative and production facilities.

Production buildings will also be modernized at OJSC "Gomel Plant of Veterinary Preparations". A new production facility for sterile medicinal products will be established here. The investment project is scheduled for completion in 2028.

The tourism sector is also developing. For the comfortable accommodation of guests in Gomel, an additional 33 rooms will be put into operation at the "CITY Hotel" (part of "Belmur" ODO) by 2028.

As noted in the economics department of the city executive committee, industrial innovation activity in Gomel is high. The highest share of modern, high-tech, and competitive products shipped was shown by OJSC "Gomselmash" (80 percent), OJSC "Korall" (70), OJSC "LVZ 'Radamir'" (45), OJSC "Raton" (40), and OJSC "GZLiN" (40). Its production has been established thanks to effective capital investments in promising projects.
