Payment in public transport will become more convenient for Gomel residents. This is reported by the Telegram channel "Gomel.Officially".

From the beginning of 2027, it is planned to launch a single ticket sales system for buses and trolleybuses in Gomel in test mode.

To this end, OAO "Gomeloblavtotrans" is already purchasing equipment to equip all 446 public transport units of the enterprise.

Currently, validators, on-board computers are being acquired and installed on the rolling stock.

The chief engineer of OAO "Gomeloblavtotrans", Vadim Nemtsov, noted: "By the end of this year, we plan to install the equipment and launch test operation of the payment system in January. Passengers will be able to pay for their travel using contactless smart cards, which can be purchased in retail networks where ticket products are currently sold, as well as using bank cards".

The previous forms of payment will also be preserved, including travel vouchers and the "Opalti" system.
