The large hall underwent modernization. It was opened in the cinema in 1969, and in 2013 digital cinema equipment was installed here. This year, the large hall features a novelty – the country's first modern laser digital projector and an updated cinema screen. After the hall's opening, young viewers were given a pre-premiere screening of the animated film "Volchok" by the National Film Studio "Belarusfilm".
As shared by Sergei Gerasimenko, an engineer from the cinema's operational-technical department, the old projector operated using a lamp. The new equipment, however, has a laser light source and a large brightness margin. The replaced screen and projector will provide viewers with the clearest and brightest picture possible. The main advantage is that there is no need for monthly lamp replacement. The projector will operate for more than 50,000 hours without requiring any consumables. The replacement was funded by the regional budget. Further modernization of the sound equipment is expected.
Alexander Lavrinenko, general director of KUP "Gomelkinovideoprokat", spoke about some future plans. For example, work is underway to open a two-hall cinema in a new entertainment center in Svetlogorsk. The Kalinin Cinema will also continue to improve its material and technical base: partial replacement of furniture is planned.
By tradition, the updated cinema hall opened with a new Belarusian premiere. The animated film "Volchok" was created by the National Film Studio "Belarusfilm". The film is made for the youngest viewers and has an age rating of 0+. According to the film's director, Elena Tururova, "Volchok" is a collection of 12 episodes, each with its own plot. The film tells the story of a little wolf cub who learned to spin like a real top toy and instantly move anywhere. By watching the adventures of the main character and his friends, toddlers explore the world and learn important social behavior rules.
Starting October 8, "Volchok" can be seen
