The harvest of grain and leguminous crops in the Glusk district is approaching completion: as of yesterday morning, the percentage of the harvest completed stood at 93 (the average for the oblast is 95). Approximately 560 hectares remained to be harvested: 160 at "Gluskaya Zarya" and 400 at "Glusk-AHRA," and the work is to be finished this week. The total grain yield across the district amounts to 19,755 tonnes with an average productivity of 22.6 centners per hectare (the average for the oblast is 28.7).
The first thousand hectares of soil have been plowed for winter sowing, which is 15 percent of the assigned target of 6,500 hectares. Fifty-six hectares of winter crops have been sown for green fodder. Perennial grasses have been mown for the second cut on an area exceeding 3,860 hectares, with grasses harvested from an area of 3,440 hectares. The district has stockpiled 2,849 tonnes of hay and has 54,828 tonnes of haylage (62 percent). Local farms have begun harvesting corn for silage and preparing this fodder: the area mown totals 273 hectares, with over 4,000 tonnes of silage prepared. Across the district, 14.96 centners of feed units have been stockpiled per conventional head, which is two feed units less than last year.
