In the administrative building of OOO "Cherikov Agro," open extrajudicial court sessions were held. Their purpose is not only to issue decisions on cases but also to warn other persons obligated to reimburse expenses for child care about the consequences of avoiding this obligation.

Two residents of Cherikov district appeared on the defendant's bench: a 40-year-old woman previously convicted and a 49-year-old woman with no criminal record. As explained by the deputy prosecutor, both defendants had more than 10 absences from work over three months. This led to them being unable to fully fulfill their obligations to reimburse state-funded expenses incurred in caring for their children, who were receiving state support.

During the court session, the women admitted their guilt. They explained that their absences are directly linked to alcohol abuse—both suffer from alcohol dependence syndrome.

The Cherikov District Court, considering the position of the state prosecutor and the presented evidence, issued convictions in both cases based on part 2 of Article 174 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus.

For the 40-year-old previously convicted woman, the sentence was 2 months of imprisonment. Additionally, compulsory security measures and treatment were applied according to part 1 of Article 107 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus.

The second defendant, a 49-year-old woman with no criminal record, was sentenced to 200 hours of public labor. Compulsory security measures and treatment were also applied to her under part 1 of Article 107 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus.

The verdicts have not yet taken legal effect—they can be appealed or protested in an appeal order.

After the session, the prosecutor worker thoroughly informed the invited persons attending the court session about the consequences of evading the duty of raising and caring for children, and once again drew attention to the danger of alcohol abuse.
