The position on the system of tourist orienting information was approved and the classification criteria for types of tourism were updated. This is provided by a resolution of the National Agency for Tourism dated October 15, 2026 No. 9, which is published on the National Legal Internet Portal.

The list of tourism types includes 13 positions:

• agro-ecotourism
• active
• gastronomic
• business
• historical-cultural
• medical-rejuvenating
• medical
• educational
• hunting
• industrial
• religious
• event-based
• ecological

Definitions are given for each of them.

Additionally, the legal status of the system of tourist orienting information is indicated, as well as the procedure for its application using tourist symbols (pictograms). The system of such information will be based on the principles of informativeness, visibility, uniformity of visual elements, aesthetics and tolerance.

Tourist symbols (pictograms) are depicted:

• in square form on a green background with white color sign texture — for designating tourist information centers;
• in square form with white framing on a brown background with yellow color sign texture — for other tourist symbols.

They are depicted in color, as well as in black-and-white version (for people with vision impairments), while preserving the identity of their textures.

Tourist information carriers are placed at the decision of local executive and management bodies:

• along pedestrian movement routes;
• at places where pedestrian routes divide;
• upon exiting underground passages;
• on specially protected natural territories;
• on territory of public transport stops;
• in metro station areas;
• upon exiting railway stations, bus stations, river ports, airports;
• on territory of historical, cultural, architectural monuments;
• in hotels and others.

They can be standalone, console-type or digital.

The resolution comes into force after its official publication and applies to relations arising from September 24, 2026.
