In Belarus, prices will be regulated for bakery products and cut meat and fish produced in retail chains

Mogilev District – Pridneprovskaya Niva, July 14, 2026, 10:04. Prices will be regulated in Belarus for public catering products manufactured at retail facilities. This was announced to journalists by Deputy Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Oleg Dikun, commenting on adjustments to the price regulation system, a BELTA correspondent reports.

The items in question include the cutting of meat, chicken, and fish (including the production of lightly salted fish), as well as bakery products. "Now these products will also be regulated," Oleg Dikun noted.

The decision was made in response to citizens' complaints indicating that public catering products produced at retail facilities differed in price, sometimes by a significant percentage, from those sold in manufacturers' branded stores.

The matter concerns price regulation for certain goods manufactured at public catering facilities owned by retail trade entities engaged in retail trade and sold in the course of their retail trade. A markup limit (no more than 10%) is being introduced for these own-production goods when sold through retail trade.

A resolution of the Council of Ministers amending the price regulation system in effect since 2022 was signed on July 10 by Prime Minister Alexander Turchin. The provisions concerning pricing for goods produced at public catering facilities enter into force 10 days after the official publication of the resolution.

In the near future, the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade (MART) will carry out explanatory work on the adopted innovations. A thematic webinar will be held at the ministry. Specialists may submit questions to which businesses would like to receive answers.
