The Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade has set maximum retail prices for potatoes, apples, and the “borscht set,” which will apply to supplies of these products for state needs.

Price regulation is being introduced to ensure the domestic market has affordable fruit and vegetable products during the winter‑spring period and to protect consumers from sharp seasonal price spikes.

Maximum retail prices by product type

The established price corridors for producers are as follows:

• Apples: from 2.73 to 3.36 rubles per kilogram
• Onion: from 1.05 to 1.18 rubles per kilogram
• Cabbage: from 0.98 to 1.13 rubles per kilogram
• Carrot: from 0.78 to 0.94 rubles per kilogram
• Beetroot: from 0.69 to 0.82 rubles per kilogram
• Potato: from 0.66 to 0.74 rubles per kilogram

Duration of the price limits

The period during which maximum prices apply varies depending on the storage conditions and shelf life of specific crops:

• From November 15 to April 30 – for fresh cabbage and apples.
• From November 15 to May 31 – for potatoes, carrots, beets, and onions.

These price limits are mandatory for economic entities that supply the products earmarked for stabilization funds to retail chains and social institutions across the country.
