Title: What Year Was for JSC "Agro-sad Rassvet"

JSC "Agro-sad Rassvet" is one of the oldest agricultural enterprises in the district. The name of the enterprise arose not by chance, as already during the Soviet period the first industrial gardens were laid out here. And now agrarians continue noble traditions: the fruit garden occupies more than 150 hectares.

However, the activity of the agricultural enterprise is not limited to horticulture alone. Revenue is also generated by the crop production and animal husbandry sectors. The multi-faceted nature of the enterprise allows confident development and demonstrates good results.

According to the results of the current harvest, the gross grain and legume crop amounted to 3653 tons. The average yield reached 44 centners per hectare — this is the third indicator in the district. "We collected oatmeal 972 tons with an average yield of 37.4 centners per hectare. Last year the yield was lower — 28 centners," recalls the chief agronomist Oleg Tsiolta. "Overall, the harvesting campaign proceeded efficiently, and we have started autumn field work. Winter oatmeal has already been cut, covering an area of 260 hectares. Now we have moved on to sowing winter cereals. This year we will increase the sowing of winter rye by 50 hectares. We continue harvesting corn to create the necessary feed base for livestock."

As for animal husbandry, over eight months the enterprise increased the gross production of milk. This indicator reached nearly 8,700 tons, which is 104 percent compared to a similar period last year. The average daily yield per cow is 7,053 kilograms: this is the third indicator in the district and 46th among agricultural enterprises in Belarus according to the half-year results. "The average daily yield per cow reached 29 kilograms with a fat content of 3.65 and milk fat content of 93.5 percent. All milk sold over the past ten years has been supplied for processing under the 'extra' type," emphasized the chief zoologist Alexander Boyko. "In the enterprise there are approximately 3,250 heads of livestock, including 1,235 dairy cows. This year the number of dairy cows increased by 30 heads, reaching 50 by the end of the year. The average daily intake of livestock is also pleasing — 866 grams, or 102 percent compared to the analogous previous year. The young stock shows even better results — 1,250 grams. The product of cultivation amounts to 4,368 centners — 107 percent."

For example, at the MTF 'Druzhba' there are 835 heads of dairy herd. The average daily milk yield per cow is 30 kilograms of milk; last year the yield per cow amounted to 10174 kilograms. Also, there is a positive trend this year, so this indicator will be higher. Modernization is carried out annually to improve livestock keeping conditions. Last year, a ventilation system with irrigation was installed in the cowshed. This year, reconstruction was carried out in the maternity ward. The technical base is also being strengthened: recently they purchased a new, more productive, self-propelled feed distributor. In total, all 32 people on the farm are motivated to achieve high results.

One of these workers is calf caretaker Elena Kapustey. The woman has been working on the farm for seven years. "I like working with animals. I am responsible for 120 calves, each requiring an individual approach. But I find a common language with them, so the work goes smoothly," she explains.
