MogilevNEWS.by 24.09.2026 The State Control Committee of Mogilev Oblast is monitoring the efficiency of use of reclaimed lands and the budget funds spent on their improvement.

"Its results show that systematic reclamation work is being carried out in the region. In 2026, more than 5,000 hectares of land have already been put into operation, including reconstruction of reclamation systems on 1,700 hectares and cultural-technical works on 3,300 hectares," the regional department commented.

At the same time, the Committee has identified cases of poor-quality reclamation work and overstatement of their volumes when commissioning facilities.

For example, in Bykhov district, on the "Greza" reclamation system near the village of Gorodets, Bykhov district, after cultural-technical reclamation on an area of 272.2 hectares, the Bykhov OJSC "PMK-85 Vodstroy" did not remove wood residues from the treated area and did not arrange the slopes of the reclamation canals. The same PMK in 2026, during cultural-technical works on the "Trosna" reclamation system on an area of about 20 hectares, did not perform work to remove tree and shrub vegetation, plow and disk the site, and on the "Ukhlyast" reclamation system on 55 hectares, the planned disking and plowing were not carried out. However, the work that was not actually performed was paid in full from the regional budget.

"There are cases where reclaimed lands are not used due to the inaction of agricultural organizations that are land users. For example, in Glusk district, OJSC 'Glussky-Agro' did not use 79 hectares of the 'Lisa' reclamation system after cultural-technical reclamation in 2023, and OJSC 'Experimental Base Glusk' did not use 219.4 hectares of the 'Zarudechye' and 'Pitch' reclamation systems after reconstruction in 2023-2024," the regional State Control Committee continued.

Following the proposals submitted by the Committee, agricultural and reclamation organizations are working to eliminate violations and shortcomings, including the return of unjustifiably received budget funds. Monitoring in the field of reclamation continues.
