How Mogilev Oblast performed in the first half of the year was discussed at a meeting in Bobruisk

Over the past four months, Mogilev Oblast has seen a small but stable increase in gross regional product. This was stated by Head of the Presidential Administration Dmitry Krutoy during a working trip to the region, a BelTA correspondent reports.

A meeting on the results of operations of individual industrial complex organizations in Mogilev Oblast for January-June 2026 was held at the base of OJSC Belshina.

According to Dmitry Krutoy, a decision was made to abandon the format of a large meeting with numerous participants and standard reports, since all statistics, analytics, and sectoral breakdowns by enterprises are already available. "Our main task now is to address the pain points that prevent the region from fulfilling the assigned forecast indicators. The key among these indicators is the gross regional product (GRP). As a positive note, it has reached the 100% level," he emphasized. "It is also positive that over the past four months we have been observing a small but stable increase. That is, we are not declining."

As Dmitry Krutoy noted, the industrial production growth rate in the oblast stood at 95.5%. "The picture here is ambiguous and quite diverse. The sample includes about 200 enterprises with different shares and influence. However, key enterprises of republican ownership form account for 45-47% of the industrial block of Mogilev Oblast, and their growth rate today is only 90%. Therefore, the main focus of today's meeting was precisely on them," said the Head of the Presidential Administration.

Following the first quarter, certain assurances were given and recovery programs were developed, Dmitry Krutoy emphasized. "The Prime Minister, whom the President tasked with personally overseeing the industrial complex issues, has conducted serious work with many enterprises," Dmitry Krutoy stated. "Where he got involved, positive dynamics are already visible. Today we once again carefully reviewed the plans that were developed based on the first quarter results."

On several occasions, including when analyzing the situation at OJSC Belshina, the President noted that he had discussed the tire market situation (both passenger and truck tires) with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. "Currently, a number of supranational decisions will be made in the Union State and the Eurasian Economic Union to curb dumping expansion that is collapsing the market and significantly affecting both Belarusian and Russian tire companies," he added.

According to Dmitry Krutoy, the head of state also emphasized: if enterprises have good, long-term, and effective export contracts, Belarus has the financial capacity to provide them with credit and financing under export schemes. The key point here is the recovery of external receivables, the head of the Presidential Administration noted.

As for investment projects being handled by Mogilev region, they are fully on schedule. "Yesterday in the Klimovichsky district, we looked at the construction program for dairy farms and a health resort. It is being implemented ahead of schedule. Already now, thanks to the government, part of the resources within the annual limits allocated for this program is being redirected from other regions where slower progress is observed. Additionally, the design organizations of Mogilev region have been tasked with creating new design reserves that we can quickly finance at the next stage so as not to stop this program," he said.

At the same time, other sectors of Mogilev region's economy are working stably, in positive territory. There is no critical decline anywhere, Dmitry Krutoy noted. The construction sector, for example, is showing excellent results, with investment growth rates in the region at 113%, putting it in a leading position in the republic. He added that the transport sector, trade, public catering, and energy sectors are also working stably and well.
