Not only drivers, pedestrians, or traffic police officers are responsible for road safety, but also specialists who inspect the technical condition of vehicles. One of them is young specialist Dmitry Khanatov, a vehicle maintenance engineer at diagnostic station No. 189 of the Chausy branch of motor depot No. 10 of OJSC Mogilevoblautotrans. Dmitry himself hails from the Dribin district. Since childhood, he has been interested in various machinery, its "inner workings," mechanisms, and the like. So it comes as no surprise that the young man decided to connect his future profession with his passion.

The interviewee enrolled at BRU and graduated with a degree in Automotive Service. He did his internship at a factory and did not expect that in the future he would be conducting technical inspections – it is not exactly his specialty. When it came to job assignment, Dmitry had two options, and he chose Chausy district precisely because of its proximity to his native region. As it turned out, not in vain: “I was well received by the team, and I liked Chausy district overall – it reminds me of my home region. It is quiet and peaceful here, the work is interesting, and that is all I need,” the interviewee shares. A vehicle inspection engineer is an extremely important and responsible profession. That is why the young man additionally completed a professional development course in Minsk at Beltekhosmotr. Dmitry admits that he is still learning. After all, the work is very responsible and requires meticulousness. Fortunately, experienced colleagues are ready to help. Engines, lighting, signal lights, information systems, units, and other vehicle components – the inspection engineer is on familiar terms with all of them. He conducts regular inspections and checks to identify faults and determine the need for repairs, and monitors compliance with safety standards and technical regulations during operation and maintenance. Needless to say, the people working at the diagnostic station are those on whom our daily road safety depends. Dmitry is fully aware of this: “Of course, the level of responsibility is enormous. That is why I say I keep learning to avoid even the slightest chance of error. You need to examine everything in a car thoroughly to prevent traffic accidents, improve the safety level of vehicles, and ensure the car remains in good working order throughout its service life. An oversight can pose a danger to property or even human life. Therefore, it is extremely important to approach one’s profession responsibly, meticulously study the condition of every vehicle component, know everything about a car perfectly, and not allow mistakes,” the young specialist considers the most important thing in his profession. Dmitry himself admits that he has not yet mastered everything and has room to grow. In the future, the young man plans to serve in the army and return to Chausy district. So he considers the experience he is gaining here now to be invaluable. And the environment is favorable: the young man admits that almost everything in his life so far has been connected with technology. It is both a hobby, a passion, and a job. So one can be sure that with such specialists, only roadworthy and safe vehicles will be on the roads. Vitaly Rutsky
