Reconstruction of old buildings into something modern – a familiar practice in Minsk. Extremely rarely does it concern fresh objects that were recently put into operation. However, in the residential complex "Kaskad," architects decided to break this unwritten rule. They propose updating the multi-level parking garage located along the road interchange and railway tracks. In fact, even completely redesigning its exterior appearance and functionality.

Let us recall that the mini-city "Kaskad" began construction in 2008 on the site of a demolished correctional colony within the boundaries of Kalvriya, Skryganova, and Buryuzov streets, and was fully completed not long ago – in 2020. One of the garages is located at Skryganova, 12, and currently looks like this:

After necessary works are carried out, the parking garage will be transformed and turned into a multifunctional building. On the ground floor, there will be an entrance zone with a security post, a café, a parking space for 63 cars, and a car wash for passenger vehicles. The second and third floors will be dedicated to office premises. A terrace will be equipped on the roof.

The contractor for the reconstruction is Kaskad Development. Why all this was planned?

— Positive factors during the reconstruction include: providing people with office spaces, organizing additional workplaces, improving communal and household services for the population, and improving the architectural appearance of the existing building, note the company.

The architectural-planning concept for the reconstruction has been submitted for public discussion, which will begin on September 24 and continue until October 8, 2026.
