Agricultural workers in the district are not slowing down their pace of work. The harvesting of corn and the sowing of winter grains are in full swing.

As of October 2, corn for silage has been harvested on an area of over 1,400 hectares (37% of the planned area) in the district. According to the district executive committee's department of agriculture and food, approximately 29,000 tons of silage mass have been prepared.

The OAO Sog-Agro is actively harvesting corn for feed. This feed crop occupies about 1,000 hectares in the enterprise. More than 600 hectares will be harvested for silage.

As of today, 64% of the areas designated for silage harvesting have already been harvested, said Viktor Fedorovich, director of the agricultural enterprise. The enterprise has a cattle population of over 3,300 heads. A lot of feed is needed. Corn silage is a good bulky feed for cattle. We strive to follow the technology for harvesting, compacting, and storing. Only in this way can we obtain high-quality feed.

In total, the enterprise has prepared 23.4 centners of feed per conditional head, which is 9.4 centners more than last year's level. In the opinion of the farm's manager, this is a fairly good feed base.

Feed on the farm is our milk, our meat, our economy, he says.

On Wednesday, corn harvesting was underway on a plot near the village of Berezuyki.

Combine harvesters were confidently working in the field, operated by experienced mechanics Nikolai Vorobyov and Nikolai Fedorovich.

The KVK is new, and I'm working on it for the first season. In a day, with a good layout, I can process up to 500 tons of corn mass, says Nikolai Vorobyov.

Five units of equipment were involved in transporting the crushed mass from the KVK.

The crushed mass was delivered to a trench near the commodity farm in the agro-town of Selets. Immediately after unloading, heavy equipment began to compact the mass. Stanislav Verkeenko worked on an MTZ-3522, and Nikita Kakhalkin worked on an MTZ-3022.

Today, we are completing the filling of this trench. It contains approximately 3,700 tons of silage mass. Previously, we closed a trench in which we laid 4,000 tons at the MTK Korobchino, explained Andrey Ivanov, the chief agronomist of the agricultural enterprise.
