
Grain Harvest in Belarus: 8.6 Million Tons, Regional Leaders, and the State Order

In Belarus, the grain harvest has reached nearly 8.6 million tons, including rapeseed. This was reported by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food. First and foremost, according to data as of August 24, the total volume amounted to 8,593 thousand tons. Thus, the harvesting campaign is successfully approaching its completion.
Grain Harvest by Region
The Minsk region remained the leader in terms of volume — 2,305 thousand tons. Consequently, in second place is the Grodno region with 1,749 thousand tons. In addition, the Brest region harvested 1,637 thousand tons of grain. At the same time, the Gomel, Mogilev, and Vitebsk regions round out the list with results of 1,050, 1,043, and 809 thousand tons, respectively.
Crop Harvesting and Fulfillment of the State Order
Crops for grain have been harvested (including rapeseed, excluding corn) on 2,330 thousand hectares. This constitutes 94% of the total area.
Under the state order, 559 thousand tons of food grain have been delivered (84% of the plan). At the same time, 106 thousand tons of rapeseed oilseeds have been delivered — this is 106% of the plan. However, malting barley so far stands at 77 thousand tons (90% of the plan).
Forage Preparation and Fertilizers
Grasses have been mowed for the second cut on 862 thousand hectares — 85% of the plan. Consequently, 534 thousand tons of hay have been prepared (75% of the plan), and silage — 651 thousand tons (3%). In addition, 11,814 thousand tons of haylage have been prepared (83%).
The available mineral fertilizers for winter sowing amount to 248 thousand tons of active ingredient. Thus, this represents 144% of the plan.
