Google is preparing for the first-ever launch of a satellite with TPU processors into orbit — as part of the Suncatcher project, which aims to build AI infrastructure directly in space.

According to the company's estimates, equipment in low Earth orbit will be able to generate eight times more energy than on Earth.

The prototype launch will take place on October 1, 2026, aboard the Transporter-18 spacecraft, developed by Planet together with SpaceX.
