Drivers of trucks belonging to a Belarusian carrier presented documents for fresh carrots. However, during inspection of the vehicles, it turned out that behind the declared vegetables were batches of fruit, reports the Telegram channel of Belarusian customs authorities.

The total weight of the pears exceeded 40 tons, and the value amounted to more than 270 thousand Belarusian rubles. At the same time, there were no documents and phytosanitary certificates confirming the safety of the products.

Regarding the carrier, Gomel Customs has initiated administrative proceedings under Article 13.12 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Belarus (violation of the procedure for transporting goods). The sanction of the article provides for a fine of up to 50 percent of the value of the subject of the administrative offense.
