A new chapter in the mutually beneficial partnership of industrial giants. BELAZ and the Russian company Nornickel are creating a joint venture.
The focus is on the production of a new generation of mining equipment. It will be able to operate underground in an autonomous, driverless mode. The enterprise will be located in Belarus. A full-scale repair base will be created in Russia.
This is not the first result of the giants' fruitful cooperation. In August, the first mine loader from BELAZ underwent factory testing. The model was developed jointly with Nornickel's miners. Pilot industrial tests of battery dump trucks will begin soon. An agreement on long-term cooperation and strategic partnership was signed last year. This allows BELAZ to occupy new, promising niches in the international market. For the partners, it helps resolve the issue of import substitution.
