On October 22, a seminar‑meeting was held at the Bobruisk Tractor Parts and Aggregates Plant, dedicated to current occupational safety issues and to summarizing the work of the technical inspection raid groups of the Belarus Federation of Trade Unions. The open dialogue became another important step toward improving the implementation of measures aimed at preventing workplace injuries in the city on Berezina. The seminar was attended by key specialists responsible for safety at the city’s industrial sites, representatives of the Bobruisk City Executive Committee and the Bobruisk Interdistrict Department of the Mogilev Regional Department of the State Labour Inspection, participants of the technical labour inspection raid group, and representatives of the Mogilev Regional Trade Union Federation.

Before the seminar began, participants had the opportunity to review the personal protective equipment presented by the company Vostok‑Service.

One of the main goals of the meeting was to develop effective ways to prevent violations in the field of occupational safety. Deputy head of the Labour, Employment and Social Protection Department of the City Executive Committee, Marina Zotov, noted that the key task is not just to state facts, but to build effective prevention: train

Industrial injury is not just dry statistics of accidents, but also the prevention of real human tragedies. A comprehensive approach—from prevention to operational response—allows the efforts of managers, specialists, and executive authorities to be united to preserve the lives and health of workers, emphasized Marina Mikhailovna.

Deputy head of the Bobruisk interdistrict department of the Mogilev regional administration of the State Labor Inspection Department, Maksim Bely, reminded: “Occupational safety must be built on discipline, control, training, and personal responsibility, not on formal reporting. As investigation practice shows, violations are often widespread, but disciplinary responsibility is rarely applied. Meanwhile, the inaction of occupational safety specialists, managers, and officials can lead to severe consequences: fatal incidents at construction sites, falls from heights, collapses of structures, and incidents during earthworks. Key preventive measures include reviewing the list of work for shift permits, organizing on‑the‑job training, clearly assigning responsibilities for investigating and recording accidents, and preserving the scene at the incident site. Particular attention is paid to preventing workers from working without official employment: significant fines are imposed for this. Moreover, in the event of an accident, blame is considered not only for workers and officials but also for those who witnessed violations and did not take action.”

Such raids and seminars play a decisive role in reducing the level of industrial risk. Regular monitoring not only identifies weak points but also timely warns managers about the possible consequences of negligent attitudes toward safety equipment. Work in this direction will continue so that every working group in the city feels protected, and working conditions meet all modern standards.
