What results have been achieved in Belarus in the production and export of rapeseed oil was reported by Igor Grutso, Deputy Chairman of the concern "Belgospishcheprom", during an off-site press event, according to a BELTA correspondent.
As Igor Grutso noted, by the end of 2025, sales of bottled rapeseed oil on the domestic market increased from 4,000 tons to 6,000 tons. Over the nine months, the growth was 26%. "In mid-October, we will hit the 6,000-ton mark and ship even more rapeseed oil by the end of the year. This testifies to the growing popularity of rapeseed oil among Belarusians," he said.
According to him, Belarus exports rapeseed oil worth more than $500 million annually. By the end of 2026, this figure is expected to be even higher. Traditional markets remain China and Israel. This year, supplies to India and Persian Gulf region countries are actively developing.
The Deputy Chairman noted that the concern is interacting with the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade in promoting rapeseed oil. In September 2026, the project "Let's Get Acquainted, Rapeseed Oil!" was launched. It includes a large-scale advertising campaign, increased product placement in retail chains, price promotions, and more. "We consciously chose the category of people who, for one reason or another, have not yet been introduced to rapeseed oil. Even after trying it once, a consumer will easily include this product in their diet," he added.
Yuri Khilinsky, Deputy Director for Commercial Issues of the Minsk Margarine Plant, called rapeseed the country's gold fund. "We ensure a serious control system—from sowing the grain to the moment the product reaches store shelves," he emphasized. "Over the past five years, the sowing areas and sales volumes of the Minsk Margarine Plant have increased 3.5 times. The indicators grow every year."
Yuri Khilinsky added that rapeseed oil is a high-quality and useful product. "The benefit of this oil for the human body is significant. It supports immunity, the heart, and other vital organs, contributing to longevity," he said.
