In Belarusian villages, stove heating is still in demand. Very soon, it will become even easier to prepare firewood for the winter.

From October 1, Belarusians will be able to order firewood online, Minister of Forestry Sergei Uldinovich said on the air of "First Informative".

This refers to the launch of a special feature on the Ministry of Forestry website.

"We are doing everything to make it more convenient for people. From October 1, firewood can be ordered online. There is no need to go to the forestry office. Any citizen, from home, from the workplace, or from anywhere, can visit the website and submit an online application," the head of the department explained.

To ensure that orders are fulfilled on time, according to him, they will keep records, including expired applications. To avoid delays, all processes will be controlled.

The Minister of Forestry also noted that recently, there has been an increase in demand for split firewood. Therefore, the organizations of the department plan to increase the volume of production of this product. It is possible that they will purchase additional equipment.

According to the Ministry of Forestry, in 2026, more than 3.1 million cubic meters of firewood have already been sold in Belarus. This is 200,000 cubic meters more than in 2025. And this is not the limit.

How much forest is per Belarusian

The territory of Belarus is covered with forest by 40.5%. According to the First Deputy Minister of Forestry, Andrei Karasya, the area of the forest fund in the country exceeds 9.8 million hectares.

About 89% of this volume is under the management of the Ministry of Forestry.

It turns out that each Belarusian has more than one hectare of forest. At the same time, on average, this figure is two times less globally – about 0.5 hectares.
