The Ministry of Forestry will launch the service during the cold period.

In Belarusian villages, wood-fired heating remains in demand. Very soon, gathering firewood for winter will become even easier.

Starting from October 1st, Belarusians will be able to order firewood online, said Sergey Uldinovich, Minister of Forestry, on air in "First Information" channel.

This refers to the beginning of a special feature on the Ministry of Forestry's website.

"We do everything to make this more convenient for people. Starting from October 1st, firewood can be ordered online. You don't need to go to the forest office. Any citizen, whether at home, at work, anywhere, can visit the site and submit an online application," explained the head of the department.

To ensure orders are fulfilled on time, he said, journals will be kept, including overdue applications. To prevent delays, all processes will be monitored.

Also, the Minister of Forestry noted that demand for split firewood has recently increased. According to him, measures will be taken to increase production volume of this product. Possibly additional equipment will be purchased.

According to the Ministry of Forestry, in 2026 in Belarus more than 3.1 million cubic meters of firewood had already been sold. That's 200 thousand cubic meters more than in 2025. And this is not the limit yet.

How much forest does one Belarusian have

The territory of Belarus is covered with forests by 40.5%. According to first deputy minister of forestry Andrey Karsya, the forest fund area in the country exceeds 9.8 million hectares.

About 89% of this volume is under the management of the Ministry of Forestry.

It turns out that each Belarusian has more hectares of forest. Meanwhile, globally this indicator is about half as low – around 0.5 hectares.
