In 2025, Vasiliy Ignatyev attended the republican job fair for silver‑age citizens and people with disabilities, which was organized by the Department of Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Raion Executive Committee at the “Krynitsa” cinema.

At the job fair, employers offered Vasiliy Dmitrievich a number of employment opportunities. He was given the chance to choose a job and to attend an interview with an employer at the event.

He was attracted to a position at the BGSHA Botanical Garden. Vasiliy Dmitrievich was briefed on the requirements for a green construction worker, and after interviewing with the employer and completing the necessary paperwork, he was hired for the vacancy.

A fixed‑term employment contract for six months was signed with him to facilitate adaptation to the profession of green construction worker.

From February 2026 to August 2026, the disabled worker’s adaptation was carried out in full, and his level of readiness for independent work in the specified profession was determined.

After completing the adaptation, employment relations with Vasiliy Dmitrievich were continued.

For employers who have the capacity and wish to hire citizens with a disability group, including for adaptation to work with partial compensation of labor costs: for all questions on this topic, please contact the Department of Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Raion Executive Committee.

New opportunities are blooming at the BGSHA Botanical Garden

Mikhail NAUMOV, Head of the Botanical Garden:

– When Vasiliy Ignatyev was hired, the Department of Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Raion Executive Committee sent the necessary documents and a petition for his admission to adaptation to the management of BGSHA. His workday was reduced by two hours, making it six hours. For six months he worked as a green construction worker, handled the assigned duties, and approached all tasks responsibly and conscientiously. After six months we observed how he worked, and he was able to assess his own capabilities. At the end of the adaptation period set by the program, we offered him a permanent position, and he agreed. An employment contract was signed. We are satisfied with Vasiliy Dmitrievich’s work.

Found himself in a new

The ruthless disease put an end to his work as a professional builder. He had to look for something suitable for his physical abilities.

So he and his wife Tatiana Vasilyevna went to the republican job fair for silver‑age citizens and people with disabilities.

There were several job offers, but as a person living in a private house, a true homemaker, who had worked all his life on the land, he was drawn to a vacancy for a green construction worker at the Botanical Garden.

Today he is quite satisfied that everything turned out exactly as it should: work within his means, a wonderful team, good leadership.

For him, communication with people, feeling needed and useful for family and society, and applying his skills in a new place are important.

Working at the Botanical Garden, amid the enchanting beauty of flowers and a multitude of evergreen plants, rare and interesting, is an excellent health bonus: the air feels like that of a forest sanatorium.
