Brest is hosting two major events: meetings of the council of heads of customs services of the CIS and EAEU states.

Representatives from Russia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan have arrived in the city on the Bug River. The venue for the meeting is symbolic. Our southwestern region plays an important role in the transit of all of Eurasia. Brest Region has about 600 kilometers of state border, of which more than 200 km are with Poland and nearly 400 km with Ukraine. A key international corridor runs through the region, and it hosts one of the largest railway hubs in Central Europe. For Belarusian customs, such meetings are an opportunity to share experience with colleagues.

Vladimir Orlovsky, Chairman of the State Customs Committee of Belarus: "It is in this region that we test the most modern technologies. This includes a robot that scans the undercarriage of vehicles and our modern inspection equipment. We have implemented an electronic vehicle distribution system by channels at the Brest checkpoint. This is such an innovation that our colleagues have not yet implemented it. Therefore, we will exchange our best practices in the use of software products, vehicle scanning, and analysis of scanograms. This is also very important for detecting violations."

Some guests visited Belarus for the first time. For them, they organized an introduction to the region and its traditions: they laid a time capsule for descendants at the Brest checkpoint, which reflects the main aspects of the work of modern customs authorities. An alley of young trees was planted at the Kozlovichi customs post.
