On the eve of the professional holiday, a ceremonial gathering of the work collective was held at the Gomel Oil Pumping Station branch of OAO Gomeltransneft Druzhba, with the participation of representatives of republican and local government bodies.
For a day, the hall turned into a venue for congratulations and expressions of gratitude. Veterans, shift workers, engineers, and dispatchers — they were all brought together by one occasion: the Day of Workers of the Oil, Gas, and Fuel Industry. The atmosphere of solemnity was enhanced by official speeches, applause from colleagues, and smiles on the faces of those who for many years have kept the station running.
The floor was taken by member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly, Chairman of the Gomel District Executive Committee Alexander Novikov. In his address to the collective, he emphasized the social significance of their work: "The labor of workers in the fuel and energy complex is a strategic resource that ensures energy security, the sustainable functioning of industry, and the social stability of the country." The senator stressed that the high professionalism and responsibility of the workers form the foundation for further technological achievements and the development of the industry.
The congratulations sounded not only as official formulas. There was talk of recognition of the merits of veterans, whose devotion to the profession has become an example for young specialists; of those who support the uninterrupted operation of the main pipelines with every shift and every decision; of a collective in which discipline and mutual support are not empty words but daily practice.
Along with good wishes came words about prospects. The speeches echoed the aspiration toward modernization, the introduction of new technologies, and the improvement of staff qualifications. This is a reminder that the industry lives not only on numbers and pipelines, but also on the people who are ready for new challenges and bear responsibility for the energy future of the region.
