• Can a household robot vacuum cleaner be brought into Belarus by car without paying customs duties for personal use?

The question is answered by the chief inspector of the tariff and non-tariff regulation department of the Gomel Customs, Alexandra LITOSH:

– According to the decision of the Eurasian Economic Commission Council dated December 20, 2017, No. 107, a list of product categories that are not considered goods for personal use has been established. The item in question – a household robot vacuum cleaner – is not included in this list, therefore it is classified as a good for personal use. Its import is carried out taking into account weight and value limits.

Thus, a citizen can import goods for personal use into Belarus by car without paying customs duties and taxes, provided the value does not exceed 500 euros and the weight does not exceed 25 kg.

However, if the weight or value of the robot vacuum cleaner (including the automatic self-cleaning base and charging station, which are supplied in the same package together with the robot vacuum cleaner) combined with other imported items exceeds the established limits, then customs duties will have to be paid at a single rate, taking into account the excess.
