The decisions adopted at the First All-Belarusian People's Assembly set the country's development on new tracks, stimulated the introduction of modern technologies in production, and gave a start to the construction of a modern village. Delegate of the first VNS, who has been the chairman of the Dayshikov SPK of the Grodno region for more than 45 years, Vasiliy Svirid, shared this opinion with a Belta correspondent.

Vasiliy Svirid has been managing the farm for more than 45 years, and it is now one of the best in the country. All the changes in the country's agricultural sector took place not only in his view but largely with his direct participation. And, according to his firm conviction, today's high results, which not only firmly ensure the state's food security and an abundance of quality products on store shelves, but also allow successful export of produced goods, are achieved thanks to competent, well-thought-out, and forward-looking decisions adopted in Belarus over these decades.

The First All-Belarusian People's Assembly was very timely; it defined the country's development for many years, set tasks, and helped consolidate forces for building what we have today. The President's report clearly outlined our path, Vasiliy Svirid says. The head of state then paid a lot of attention to agriculture, and I, like many other leaders of agricultural enterprises, welcomed this with great enthusiasm. The village required increased attention, and it was such tasks that the President set.

As the long-time farm manager recalls, after the collapse of the USSR, housing was hardly built in villages, and thus young personnel did not feel inclined to stay. The village development program fundamentally changed approaches and laid the groundwork for transformations in the country's agricultural complex.

Working in the village has always been difficult, the SPK chairman says. But when the path was clearly defined

As for housing, since 2000 more than 200 apartments have been built in Lutskovlyany and other villages of the Deynshikov SPK, including duplexes. The average salary in the farm for the first half of the current year exceeded 3.3 thousand rubles.

The agricultural topic was fully on the agenda at the VI VNS in 2021, where Vasiliy Svirid was also a delegate. As the head of state said at the time, agriculture would develop through the implementation of new adaptive farming systems and technological regulations, providing farms with reliable high‑productivity machines and production complexes. This is exactly what is happening, says the chairman of one of the country's leading SPKs: the five‑year plan was marked by the introduction of high‑technology work methods, with an emphasis on modernization. Equipment in the farm is constantly updated, new combines, tractors, and other agricultural machines are purchased every year. Right now a dairy‑product complex for 1,200 cows is being built on the farm. Development not only does not stop, it is gaining momentum. Accordingly, personnel are staying in the village.

"Our President is a man of the people. Patriotism, love for his country and its people resonate literally in every word he speaks, reflected in every action. And our people are true workers. Therefore I am convinced that we will develop, grow, and make our lives better with each passing year," says Vasiliy Svirid.
