In the episode of the program “Economic Environment,” important figures and trends of the country’s financial system are highlighted.

Experts note:

  • The total amount of deposits held by the population has surpassed the psychological threshold of 25 billion rubles. The key trend is a steady increase in confidence in the national currency: 70 % of all deposits are now held in Belarusian rubles.

This is a clear reflection of the process of de-dollarization of the economy and the growing confidence of people in the stability of the national currency.

The trend is evident not only in the structure of deposits but also in settlements — more and more transactions between businesses and citizens, as well as in foreign economic activity, are conducted in rubles.

The population increasingly chooses the ruble both as a means of saving and as a tool for everyday transactions.

According to IMF estimates, over the past years the dollar has lost about twenty percentage points in the structure of international reserves of countries worldwide.

Against this backdrop, it is especially important to work on strengthening one’s own financial resilience and diversifying reserves.
