The Government of Belarus has introduced key changes to the procedure for supplying vegetables from stabilization funds. Fresh cucumbers and red tomatoes have been officially included in the state order to ensure uninterrupted supply to retail chains during the off-season.

Main points about the new rules:

Supply volumes. The state will require 9,533 tons of cucumbers and 6,050 tons of tomatoes.

Reliable suppliers. The state order will be fulfilled by 10 organizations (for cucumbers) and 5 companies (for tomatoes). Among them are well-known producers.

Price control. Maximum wholesale prices will be set by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food together with the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade by September 1, 2026. Retail prices for consumers will be capped by the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade by October 1, 2026.

Quality guarantee. All products must strictly comply with state standards. These are GOST 33932-2016 for cucumbers and GOST 34298-2017 for tomatoes.

Not only cucumbers and tomatoes

In parallel, the government has revised state order volumes for other socially significant products as well: potatoes, cabbage, beets, carrots, onions, and apples. The adjustment was made taking into account actual harvest figures for the current year and the needs of trade.

The new rules took effect on September 2, 2026, which will help stabilize the market and provide consumers with quality domestic vegetables at fair prices during the winter period.
