Construction amnesty concludes

– We decided to renovate an old parental house. We didn't commission a project because we have construction experience. Can we use construction amnesty and register the building properly? Where should we go? Gennady.

The head of the architecture and construction department of the Zhlobin district executive committee, Alexander Alekseenko, explains:

– You should not postpone the decision regarding the commissioning of the residential building. The President of Belarus signed Decree No. 253 on July 25, 2022, “On the simplified procedure for commissioning construction objects,” and its validity has been extended until January 1, 2028. This Decree is temporary and applies only to single‑family residential houses and/or non‑residential capital structures of the fifth class of complexity located on the property premises, complying with building codes and urban planning documentation. Therefore we suggest using Decree No. 253 to legalize the self‑built structures. An application for commissioning construction objects must be submitted by January 1, 2028, to the “One Window” service of the Zhlobin district executive committee (35 Vorovskogo Street). Bring with you the certificate of state registration of the land plot and the technical specifications sheet (issued by the Zhlobin branch of the State Registration and Land Cadastre Agency of Gomel (BTI)).
