Over the years of independence, domestic machine building has undergone a difficult path of formation. Today it acts as a powerful engine of progress, ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of such sectors of the economy as agriculture and forestry, transport, communications, and construction. In conditions of serious competition, enterprise collectives demonstrate high professionalism, mastering new types of products, deepening interstate cooperation, and strengthening the republic's technological sovereignty.

Special words of gratitude go to veterans, those who laid the glorious traditions of the national engineering school, who restored and built factories in the postwar years. Your experience and dedication to the cause serve as a guide for the young generation of designers, technologists, and workers.

I am convinced that machine builders will continue to effectively solve the tasks set and strengthen the image of our country as a recognized center of industrial growth.
