Import substitution is one of the main areas of activity for the enterprises of Belgospishcheprom. This was reported by Maria Gorbatoval, Deputy Head of the Department of Coordination of Goods Supply to the Domestic Market and Foreign Trade Activities of the Concern, at a press conference, according to a BELTA correspondent.
According to the results of 2025, the total volume of import-substituting products released by the enterprises of the concern amounted to almost $687 million, which is 30% more than the planned annual target. In the first half of 2026, the production volume reached $386 million, which is 65% of the annual target. Over the past few years, Belgospishcheprom's enterprises have mastered the production of a number of new products, including innovative developments. These include cookies with vitamins and calcium for children's nutrition, chewing marshmallow, various types of sugar-free confectionery, pectin-containing juices and nectars, special ketchup for children's nutrition, chips from raw potatoes, dry mixture for draniki, sugar with added black pepper, soups that do not require cooking, salt-free and glutamate-free seasonings, rapeseed oil with the aroma of Provençal herbs, and rapeseed oil for children's nutrition under the D brand. "Our enterprises are constantly evolving, studying world experience and modern trends in the food industry. This allows us to quickly respond to changing consumer tastes and successfully compete with imported analogues," noted Maria Gorbatoval.
In 2026, the concern's enterprises presented a number of cheese novelties. These include wafers with the addition of natural cheese, sugar cookies with parmesan, halva with the taste of parmesan and balsamic vinegar, as well as cheese soups with croutons that do not require cooking.
To increase the effectiveness of implementing the import substitution strategy, investment projects are being implemented at the concern's enterprises. Several dozen such projects have been implemented in recent years. For example, in 2023, the Spartak enterprise installed equipment for packaging and producing chocolate bars weighing 90-100 grams and 4 mm thick. In the same year, the Słodycz confectionery factory purchased and installed equipment for producing waffle tubes with filling. In 2024, the enterprise introduced equipment for producing soft caramel. The Kommunarka confectionery factory in the Liозnenский district is completing the implementation of an investment project for the production of candies based on dry milk.
A representative of Belgospishcheprom also added that in recent years, a number of key trends have been observed in the food industry. This includes the production of products for a healthy lifestyle, functional products without sugar, enriched with vitamins, microelements, and protein. Mini-formats for snacking on the go are developing, as well as products that are ready to eat and do not require prolonged heat treatment, and complex and unusual flavor combinations.
