Thanks to social networks, some people become well known. Among them is a municipal service employee who greets everyone with the words "Waterworks is in touch!", revealing the nuances and subtleties of the enterprise's operations.

Today, the "Zlobinvodokanal" branch of KGPU "Gomelvodyankanal" provides water to the Zhlobin district, offering residents a certain list of water supply and sewage removal services. This sphere has long been considered masculine, since specialists deal with pipes, valves, and emergency situations on a daily basis. However, women in the collective work hard and have a cheerful spirit. Among them is the sociable and charming Julia Pareska, who has been heading the production-technical department of the enterprise for the past four years.

From schoolyard to master

Julia Vladimirova – a native of Zhlobin. Her mother, Tatyana Ivanovna, dedicated her entire life to medicine, and her father, Vladimir Anatolievich, worked in the field of housing and utilities for the last 13 years. After graduating from School No. 1, the girl decided to follow in her grandmother Galina Grigoryevna Karaban's footsteps, who worked as an accountant at the agricultural enterprise "Papronotnoye". When Julia visited her during holidays, she often ran to her job: watching how the grandmother skillfully distributed salaries to employees, checked records, and wrote reports. Julia entered the Gomel Trade and Economic College with the specialty of "accounting, analysis and control", and later chose to pursue higher education. She selected the faculty of economics and business technologies at the Belarusian State University of Transport. In 2011, Julia (then Chepikova) came to work as a shop floor controller at KGPU "Unikon".

– And in 2012 I met my half – Dmitry. Two years later, on September 24, we got married. This year our wedding was flawless! Over time, our family gradually grew: our son Radimir was born, and three years later – our daughter Yaroslavna. While I was on maternity leave, I did not waste time – I enrolled in the master's program, knowing that with a master's diploma I could move forward further – recalls the interviewee.

Engineering calculation and career change

In 2020, Yulia Paryetskaya was transferred to the position of accountant. In that role, among other duties, she prepared quarterly and annual statistical reports on the commissioning of facilities, fixed assets, and the use of investments in fixed capital. A year later, she became deputy head of the production and technical department. There she was already responsible for the commissioning of water supply and sewerage networks, for connecting facilities to life-support communications, mastering issues of network construction, overseeing the execution of construction and installation work performed in-house. Another year later, she headed the department. As a manager, Yulia Vladimirovna had to deal with complex technical issues, possess a vast amount of information, and work with documents. Despite her considerable experience, Yulia Paryetskaya continues to update her knowledge, monitors innovations in the field of water supply and sewerage network construction, and thoroughly studies the economy entrusted to her.

— I plunged into work headfirst, especially since the repair of the overpass on Polevaya Street had just begun. Together with management and contractors, I practically lived on that site. It was, for me, a kind of professional suitability exam! It also gave a new impetus: I realized I needed to develop further. I decided for myself that I needed not only experience but also an engineering specialty. So I became a part-time student at the Belarusian State Agricultural Academy, where I am currently obtaining the specialty 'melioration and water management.' Indeed, today I, together with management, foremen, and site supervisors — who are exclusively men — am responsible for the technical soundness of all the city and district's water arteries. And not only of Zhlobin, but also of Rogachev, Kormyansk, and Buda-Koshelevo. Overall, the balance sheet of

It would seem that the foremen and section heads should have greeted the young woman with caution. But that did not happen. Our heroine is always ready to help, advise, or lend a hand in solving complex issues. Together with specialists, she goes out to inspect facilities, including sewage pumping stations, water towers, iron removal stations, and treatment plants. Together they work on eliminating emergency situations, conduct drills, ensure the uninterrupted operation of production processes, and promptly respond to messages from the dispatch service. As Yulia Paretskaya herself notes, her work cannot be called desk‑bound, but it is precisely this – as well as the search for unconventional solutions – that makes it interesting to her.

Communication and Hobbies

Yulia Vladimirovna is known in the team as a very active person. And with the development of social media, she began to explain in simple language the daily life of the water utility crew: streaming from accident sites or network modernization, explaining to Zhlobin residents and social media users the rules for using sewage and water supply systems.

Although our heroine has been immersed in work practically 24/7 for the past 15 years, this does not prevent her from remaining a loving wife and mother, a caring daughter and granddaughter. Whenever she has a free minute, she gladly goes out with her family to the forest or fishing, especially since fishing has long been her husband Dmitry's main hobby. Recently, they have been traveling a lot by car around their native Belarus with the children. By the way, our interviewee has also been behind the wheel for 15 years, and during that time she has driven not just one thousand kilometers.
