Representatives of the trade union movement in the Mogilev region closely monitored the process of preparing the region's enterprises and organizations for the winter season: dozens of monitoring activities were carried out in all sectors. This was reported by the Mogilev Regional Union of Trade Unions.

Technical labor inspectors and union committees supervised the execution of scheduled equipment and heating system repairs, the insulation of production and administrative premises, and the effectiveness of ventilation systems. Particular attention was paid to providing workers with insulated work clothing and footwear, ensuring the presence of fire extinguishing equipment in boiler rooms, and organizing training for staff on the peculiarities of working during the cold season.

Many enterprises in the region carried out extensive and thorough work to prepare for the cold. At large industrial enterprises such as БЦЗ, «Кричевцементношифер», «Могилевтехмонтаж», «Белшина» and «Могилевхимволокно», boilers and heating lines were repaired, production premises insulated, and winter work clothing purchased. In construction organizations, in addition to insulating workshops, snow removal equipment was prepared and a necessary stock of sand‑salt mixture was established.

The unions placed special emphasis on protecting those who work outdoors or in unheated spaces. For example, in the forestry organizations of the «Беллесбумпром» group, a strict work‑rest regime is observed: workers are given 20‑minute breaks every two hours for warming up, which are counted as working time. Thermoses for hot food are purchased for forest loggers, and GAZ‑66 trucks are equipped with everything needed to maintain warmth.

The unions also ensured the creation of the most comfortable living conditions. For instance, in the management company of the «Бобруйскагромаш» holding, rooms for heating and rest were set up for workers on the street, equipped with microwaves and kettles. And at «Могилевлифтмаш», on the recommendation of the union committee, heating of living premises was turned on before the start of centralized heating.

In the agro‑industrial complex, monitoring was combined with targeted support. The Mogilev regional organization of the trade union of workers of the agricultural and food industry helped four enterprises in the region. The funds were used to improve workers’ living conditions: purchasing lockers for changing rooms, water‑supply equipment, and materials for repairing tractor‑driver rest rooms. They also paid attention to the social sphere. Union committees monitored the repair of canteens, roofs, and heating systems in schools and kindergartens.

The chief technical labor inspector of the Mogilev regional union of trade unions, Sergey Sergeenko, noted that the issues of preparing for winter work are under the control of the organization committees. Public oversight of compliance with working conditions during the cold period of the year will continue.
