
Optimal storage temperature, according to the specialist, is +2…+4 °C. In a warmer room, tubers sprout faster, and at too low a temperature they may acquire a sweetish taste.
The cellar should be dark, dry, and well ventilated. Potatoes can be stored in boxes, nets, or bins, but not in too thick a layer: the lower tubers may steam and rot.
In winter, supplies should preferably be inspected from time to time.
