Eventually, pet owners face the loss of their pets. How to properly and legally bid farewell to a beloved pet was discussed on the ONT television channel, as reported by BELTA.
When a pet owner lives on their own land, the question of how to bury a deceased pet rarely arises. However, in cities this procedure can become a real problem. Spontaneous burials occur in prohibited places. When one wishes to bid farewell to a beloved pet in a dignified, human way, cremation can serve as a worthy alternative—a progressive step, though still in development in Belarus. There are not many organizations offering such services in the country, and the cost is sometimes unaffordable for everyone.
One of the animal crematories is located in the Minsk district. As Anastasia Brazovskaya, deputy director of the company providing ritual services for animals, said, they receive 2 to 10 applications per day. Elena Morigerovskaya, a resident of Zaslavl, turned to them for help. She admitted that she had not even known before that animal cremation existed. According to her, it is a very important service that offers the possibility to say goodbye to a beloved pet in a dignified, human way.
Many continue to bury animals the old-fashioned way: in the nearest forest belt or on spontaneous pet cemeteries. Such burials are illegal— the fine can reach up to 30 base amounts. According to veterinarians, such burials are potentially hazardous.
