The chief forester of the Goretz Forest Enterprise, Alexey Zuyonok, notes that the current season has been generous with acorns. Preliminary estimates suggest that the harvest is the richest in recent years – more than 4.5 tonnes have already been collected. Yet just a year ago, the oak was not bearing fruit at all. This harvest is not just a number in a report. It has important significance for forest restoration: the acorns will be sent to the nursery for planting.
