– Dad was a kind man, Mom was strict, they loved and complemented each other, working for the well-being and prosperity of the family. We had 100 currant bushes in the village. Mom would go to work and instruct us: today we need to collect two buckets. Then I would sell the berries at the market (or we'd sell them for preserves), and she'd bring us a watermelon or ice cream – a treat. The parents always wanted us to get an education and have in-demand professions. That came true. We all started our families, each of us has two children. Our wealthy parents provided for all our weddings. In this house, we lived with our families until each of us got our own place, – tell the daughters Valentina and Larisa. – Mom always helped raise the grandchildren. Though the work at the tire factory was hard, they also took care of the farm – they had pigs and chickens. Only about three years ago did they stop, when their health began to fail. And Dad worked as a locksmith and a guard until he was 72, always tending the garden himself, while Mom managed the house.
Now the daughters visit their elderly parents every day to talk, cook, feed them, and clean the house – a great support is also provided by a social worker. The family is large and friendly; whether in daily affairs or on holidays, they all gather in the cozy parental home.
From the height of their jointly lived years, the Mazurenko spouses say: "All sorts of things happened, it was both sweet and bitter – that's life. To live in harmony for so many years, you need to respect and make concessions to each other." A blessed wedding anniversary is the date when Nina Andreevna and Vladimir Titovich, with gratitude, realize that their family life has been truly tested by time, when they feel the warmth of long relationships and understand each other without words. The main happiness is when loved ones are near and every moment spent together is valued.
