Two models of passenger tires of OJSC Belshina have been awarded the State Quality Mark, and the share of the plant's products on the domestic market over the last five years has grown from 20–25% to 45%, reports BELTA.

The quality mark was awarded by a presidential decree of January 18, 2024 No. 21 to two passenger tire models: 215/60R17 BEL-402 96H and 225/65R17 BEL-411 102H. This is already the second such award for the enterprise: in Soviet times the plant also received this high honor. Currently the plant produces over 200 models, but only two have elite status.

— The market shows a trend toward increasing wheel diameter — this applies to both road vehicles and high-clearance automobiles. We have successfully mastered these niches, — said Yuri Rusetsky, director of the mass tire plant of OJSC Belshina.

The director noted that the complexes installed at the production were purchased as part of technical re-equipment specifically for mastering the production of tires with diameters from 16 to 20 inches. Over five years, developers have created more than 60 new large-diameter models.

The enterprise cooperates with Russia, countries of the Far Abroad, Asian regions, and others. Plant management notes successful sales of both passenger and cargo assortments. The domestic market is constantly growing. Five years ago the share of products on the domestic market was 20–25%, and now it has reached 45% and continues to increase annually.

Tires of models BEL-402 and BEL-411 are supplied for equipping Belgee cars. Despite the automaker's higher requirements compared to GOST, the enterprise met all indicators without a single complaint. More than 210,000 BEL-411 tires and more than 120,000 BEL-402 tires have been produced.

Currently designers are working on creating tires for electric vehicles with diameters of 19 and 20 inches for equipping Belgee cars. Due to the high initial torque of electric cars, special operating characteristics are required.

— Usually the optimal time for tire development and launch into serial production is six months. We set the task to master this novelty in six months, but haste is inadmissible, as we are responsible for safety, — explained Yuri Rusetsky.

For further development and increasing capacities for producing large-size tires, the plant plans to install two additional assembly complexes. One of them will allow not only increasing volumes but also improving product design, giving designers the opportunity to implement even more advanced solutions.
