With the start of the heating season, residents of Belarus will no longer need to spend time traveling to forestry offices to purchase firewood. Starting October 1 of this year, applications for fuel can be submitted entirely remotely—through the official website of the Ministry of Forestry. This was announced by the head of the ministry, Sergey Ul'dinovich, on the channel “First Informational”.

The innovation is being introduced against a backdrop of record demand for solid fuel. The minister cited fresh statistical data, noting that over 3.1 million cubic meters of firewood have already been sold within the country this year alone. This exceeds the figures for the same period last year by more than 200 thousand cubic meters.

“People are actively preparing for the heating season. I think this is not the limit; there will still be significant consumption,” emphasized Sergey Ul'dinovich. At the same time, he reassured citizens, saying there is no shortage of raw material and there are currently no problems with purchasing firewood. According to the minister, the main goal of digitization is maximum convenience for the population. “We are doing everything to make it easier for people. Any citizen, whether at home, at work, or anywhere else, can visit the website and submit an online application.”

To ensure the new system operates transparently and orders are fulfilled on time, the ministry is implementing a strict control mechanism. Electronic logs of applications will be created to monitor execution deadlines. Special attention will be paid to overdue requests—this aspect will be tracked in greater detail using the platform’s modern technical capabilities. If an application is not completed within the set timeframe, the system will automatically record the violation, allowing prompt response to logistics disruptions.

Thus, shifting the firewood procurement service to a digital format not only relieves people of the need to visit government institutions but also makes the resource distribution process accountable and predictable for both parties.
