The room stock of Belarusian sanatoriums is planned to be increased. This was reported to journalists by Deputy Director of the National Tourism Agency Denis Bezhyok, BelTA reports.

“We plan to increase the room stock by 30%, because sanatoriums have enormous potential. Our sanatoriums range from 200–300 rooms to 500–600 in a single facility. And we say that if occupancy is around 100%, then it is still easy to fill it up further,” said Denis Bezhyok.

According to him, Russian business can also participate in investments in Belarusian sanatoriums. “We are more considering options for full-fledged investment lots. We have a number of land plots where construction of new facilities is planned. There we are looking for an investor, and there are already a number of developments and studies, and agreements for the future,” noted the deputy director. He clarified that there are more than 10 such plots, in particular in Mogilev and Vitebsk regions, including on the Braslav Lakes.

The National Tourism Agency of Belarus, with the assistance of the Republican Union of Tourism Industry and the Russian Association of Health Tourism and Corporate Health, acted as the organizer of the international practical conference of the Club of Health Tourism Leaders, which took place in the business and cultural complex of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia. The conference program is focused on discussing strategic directions for the development of the sanatorium and resort industry of both countries. The focus is on issues of effective management, implementation of advanced medical technologies, marketing, sales, and digital promotion of health services.
