The order of using charitable accounts has changed.

Individuals who opened such accounts by September 12, 2026, to collect funds for medical aid, including purchasing medicines, therapeutic nutrition, medical products and equipment, must take action by November 12 of this year, as provided by Presidential Decree No. 304 "On Funds and Charitable Activities in the Healthcare Sector". Their list depends on the conditions of the account opening.

In Belarusbank, they emphasize that account holders should go to the branch where the account was opened to provide documents and bring contracts into compliance with the Decree's requirements.

According to the provisions of the Decree, individuals may open charitable accounts to collect funds for medical aid exclusively for:

  • themselves personally due to need for medical care;
  • a spouse (spouses), close relatives (parents, adoptive parents, children, including adopted children, close brothers and sisters, grandfathers, grandmothers, grandchildren);
  • minors or adults under the custody or guardianship of the account holder.

If the existing account does not meet these conditions, the client must transfer all funds on it to charitable accounts opened strictly in accordance with the Decree.

If the account is opened in favor of persons listed above, the holder must provide to the bank a package of documents within the established period, including:

  • a medical document confirming the illness of the person in need of help, issued in accordance with the legislation on administrative procedures;
  • copies of documents confirming defects and/or kinship or a copy of an adoption/guardianship/guardianship decision.

In addition, the account holder must eliminate duplicate accounts. If more than one charitable account was opened for the same purpose, all savings must be transferred to a single main account (taking into account the Decree's requirements), and the others must be closed.

If ordinary (non-charitable) current or other bank account was used to collect charitable funds, the client must ensure the transfer of all accumulated money to an official charitable account.
