On the measures being taken to accelerate and ease border crossings, Chairman of the State Customs Committee (GTC) Vladimir Orlovsky spoke on the television channel “Belarus 1”.

There is a certain restriction of cargo flows at the border with neighboring states. First and foremost, this harms citizens crossing the border and transit through Belarus. We live in these realities and look at what we can do on our part to accelerate and ease the border crossing process. Of course, irregular work of neighboring border control agencies leads to the creation of queues, he said.

The head of the GTC emphasized that the primary task of the ministry is to create comfortable waiting conditions before crossing the border. Thus, in Belarus, waiting areas near checkpoints are being actively set up, and it is now possible to register in an electronic queue before arriving at the border and arrive at a convenient time.

Vladimir Orlovsky noted that in 2026 remote registration in the electronic queue was introduced. He said that they plan to make this registration even more comfortable. By the end of 2026 they will develop a software product—a mobile application—so that you can register in the queue directly from your phone. This will work for both passenger and cargo traffic.
