The Council of Ministers has approved the Regulations on the Procedure for the Operation of the Unified State Information System for the Sale of Travel Documents for Passenger Road Transport in Regular Service (GIS). The corresponding decree "On Passenger Transport" was signed by Alexander Turčin.
According to Decree No. 108 "On the Unified State Information System for the Sale of Travel Documents for Passenger Road Transport", the creation of this system must be completed by July 1, 2027. The adopted decree establishes the procedure for the operation of the GIS. The main purpose of the innovation is to create conditions for fair competition, improve the quality of services provided, and further improve relations in the field of passenger transport through their digitization.
Furthermore, the document empowers the Ministry of Transport and Communications to adopt the National Programme for Simplifying Formalities in International Air Transport. Implementation of this programme will contribute to the simplification and unification of procedures regulating passenger, baggage control, as well as the flight crews transporting them.
It is expected that these measures will create conditions for improving the quality of services provided by air transport and will allow reducing restrictions on the performance of international flights by Belarusian airlines.
