According to the Eurasian Economic Commission, Belarus has strengthened its position among the leaders of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in terms of wage growth rate and size, reports BELTA.

According to the EEC's express information, for January–June of the current year the average monthly nominal wage increased in all EAEU countries. Belarus demonstrated a growth rate of 113.2% compared to the same period last year, yielding only to Kyrgyzstan, which recorded 127.5%.

In Russia, nominal growth amounted to 112.7%, in Armenia – 105.5%, and in Kazakhstan – 100.3%. At the same time, EAEU analysts emphasize that Kyrgyzstan's leadership is largely due to the low‑base effect, as the country maintains the lowest income level in dollar equivalent amid the highest consumer price growth index in the union.

Regarding the growth of average monthly real wages, which is calculated adjusting for inflation, Belarus took a confident second place in the EAEU with a figure of 107.5%. A higher result was only recorded in Kyrgyzstan with its 115.3%, while in Russia real incomes increased by 106.5%, in Armenia – by 100.9%, and in Kazakhstan a decline to 99.4% was recorded.

High real income indicators for Belarusians are due to effective inflation containment, since, according to June results, the consumer price growth index in Belarus relative to December of last year amounted to only 103.2%. This is one of the lowest and most stable results in the Eurasian Economic Union.

When converted into foreign currency based on January–June results, Belarus also firmly holds second place in the EAEU with an average salary of $1,026. The leader by this criterion remains Russia with a figure of $1,431. In the other member countries of the union, average monthly earnings did not surpass the one‑thousand‑dollar threshold.
