Over the past five years in Belarus approximately 350 new drug products have been released.
Only in 2026 more than 55 new products entered the market, while in 2024 more than 60 did so.
This was reported by the general director of RUP "Management Company of the Holding 'Belfarprom'" Yuri Pohodny.
New Drugs and Investments
The annual goal of releasing at least 50 new drugs is being met.
During the reporting period, nine investment projects with a total cost of over 65 million rubles were also completed.
This means expansion of the product range, updating production capacities, and strengthening the position of Belarusian pharmaceuticals on both domestic and foreign markets.
How the Pharmaceutical Market of Belarus Looks Like
The country's pharmaceutical market includes approximately 1630 drug products.
More than 700 of them are produced by enterprises of the holding company "Belfarprom".
By the end of 2026, the volume of pharmaceutical production in Belarus will exceed 3 billion Belarusian rubles.
About 40% of this volume will be provided by the holding company's enterprises.
In monetary terms, the share of domestic drugs on the Belarusian pharmaceutical market exceeds 50%.
In natural terms, figures are even higher: in the pharmacy segment, Belarusian drugs occupy more than 65%, and in the hospital sector—more than 80%.
This indicates that domestic medicines are widely represented not only in retail pharmacies but also in hospitals, polyclinics, and other medical institutions.
Export and Prospects
Every year Belarus exports pharmaceutical products to the export market for more than $230 million.
Meanwhile, 70% of this volume comes from enterprises of the holding company "Belfarprom".
Pharmaceutical products from Belarusian enterprises are supplied to 29 countries worldwide.
This confirms that the industry is developing not only for the domestic market but also actively entering international levels.
