Belarus is introducing licensing for the import of apples from countries not belonging to the EAEU for six months. This is provided for by the Council of Ministers' resolution of September 24, 2026 No. 487.

Imports will be carried out on the basis of one-time licenses issued by the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade (MART) in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.

The Council of Ministers adopted the resolution on September 24, 2026, No. 487. The document concerns the import of apples originating from countries that are not members of the EAEU.

For such supplies, one-time licenses are provided. They are issued by the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade (MART), with coordination required from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food (Minselekhozprod).

The official reason is a high harvest. The resolution aims to ensure that the domestic market is fully supplied with domestic apples during the off-season period.

The duration of the new regime is six months.
